altro_studio: Winner of International Residential Architecture Awards 2020. House is located in southest of Rome and it’s characterized by new modern spaces with minimal furniture, specially designed for clients (as living room furniture with fireplace and for TV, kitchen furniture, bedroom wardrobe, etc). Modern furniture has been completed and integrated with ancient roman baroque furniture of client property as two chandeliers, gold console with mirror, bath washbasin, etc. Thus the solution is based on the contrast between innovation and antiquity, between minimal and redundant and complex forms.

altro_studio was founded in 1998 by a group of people prepared to work in an interdisciplinary environment. From the very start, altro_studio began to research movement as applied to the home, ranging from temporary housing to major urban projects. We mainly addressed new concepts of
flexible, transformable, eco-living space, in order to understand the new, functional and structural needs of the individual. For this and other reasons, altro_studio focused its research on new technologies (mainly linked to automated systems) and innovative materials and investigated the problems of environmental sustainability.

Altro_studio’s architectural projects have been published in many international architectural books and reviews and the company has won various project competitions award and received numerous prizes. Finally, the work has been presented in national and international exhibitions.
