DEDANG DESIGN: Winner of World Design Awards 2025. Qidu Tennis Park is one of the key projects implemented in Qidu Town’s “P+ Plan”. Currently, with the continuous improvement of urbanization and the increasing scarcity of land resources, parking has become a pain point (rigid demand) in urban development. Meanwhile, supporting facilities such as pocket parks, sports venues, and community commercial facilities are areas that enhance residents’ happiness and satisfaction (soft need). The “P+ Plan” combines the rigid demands of urban development with the soft needs of the people, achieving a balance between “hardware and software,” and is an innovative measure for Qidu to promote exquisite urban and rural renewal.

The Qidu P+ Tennis Park project covers an area of approximately 4,000 square meters, with a total building area of approximately 3,000 square meters. It adopts a functional combination of parking lot and sports facilities. The upper part is a sports park, planned to include two tennis courts, two pickleball courts, one table tennis court, and a dynamic running trail around the courts. The lower part is designed as a parking lot, providing approximately 100 parking spaces. The three staggered sports platforms that make up the building not only free up ground-floor space for parking but also create a highly dynamic natural lighting environment and sports experience.

The tennis park project serves two purposes: firstly, as a “parking + sports” supporting project for the adjacent Qidu Talent Apartment; and secondly, as a parking solution for the Jiangcun Experimental School during school hours. The school is located next to Nan Taihu Avenue, and during school hours, the high concentration and temporary parking of vehicles picking up and dropping off students on the main road easily causes traffic congestion. Currently, the parking pressure is enormous, and the completion of the tennis park parking lot will greatly alleviate this problem.

The project is also integrated with other sports facilities such as Jiangcun Luoxia Soccer Field, Shundi River Kayaking, and Jiangcun Camp Basketball Court, forming a chain that together creates a “one-kilometer sports and wellness” public service space. It is an important part of Qidu Town’s efforts to build a higher-level public service system for fitness for all.
