International Residential Architecture Awards 2024. is one of the world’s most prestigious awards for residential architecture. It recognizes outstanding ideas that redefine Architecture design through the implementation of novel technologies, materials, programs, aesthetics, and spatial organizations along with studies on globalization, flexibility, adaptability, and the digital revolution. It is a forum that examines the relationship between Architecture and the natural world, Architecture and the community, and Architects and the city.

International Residential Architecture Awards 2024. will be judged by two stellar panels: one for design, and the other for architecture. Each of the panels will be comprised of industry experts who will use their insight and experience to deliberate the results.

The Design panel will be looking for fresh thinking and originality, beautiful execution, great storytelling, work that pushes and progresses the client brief beyond expectations, and work that emotionally connects with its people.

The Architecture panel will be hoping to see: work that is programmatically, formally, and spatially rich, a design that pushes boundaries, projects that address issues of sustainability a people-focused, client-driven approach.

The reputable judges will nominate 3 finalists within each award category. The winners of the International Residential Architecture Award 2024. will be selected by honorable jury members. Winners will get a winner kit(Trophy, Certificate, and winner’s poster) Award will be published on The Architecture Community’s website and our media partner’s website.

Submission requirements:

1.  Maximum 5 Sheets of the project.
2. A3 size sheets 420mm X 297mm in horizontal format and submitted as digitally colored high-resolution files meant for printing in JPEG format.
3.  Project About in Docs format in about a Maximum of 500 words.
4. The submission sent does not exceed the maximum of 30 MB in the zip file.
5.  Unlimited Projects in multiple categories.
6. No restrictions on inbuilt concept, and project-making date.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design and Master of Arts degree in Design from the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In 2003, he established his own interior & branding design practice PANORAMA.

Mr. Byeong-Joon Kang was born in Daegu, Korea in 1963. He holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Daegu University in 1988, a Master of Architectural Engineering from Kyungpook National University in 1990, and a Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 1994. He has got his Ph.D. from Kyungpook National University in 2019.

Lydia Moog
Lecturer RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN

Lydia Moog received her BS in mechanical engineering from Brown University. Her first professional experience studying structures came during her time as an archaeological researcher in northern France, where she had the chance to study the foundations of the medieval monastery of Bourgfontaine in Villers-Cotterêts. After completing her undergraduate degree, Moog went on to work as a structural engineer at Odeh Engineers, Inc. in Providence, and she is currently working on the Brown University Performing Arts Center, designed by New York-based architecture firm REX. Her varied experience in engineering includes excavating, surveying foundations, analyzing, designing, and drafting structures that exist partially, if not fully, underground. In tandem with her training in engineering at Brown, Moog studied in various departments at RISD and continues to work with glass.

Phillip Mead
Assoc. Prof. Architecture Program

Phillip Mead teaches Global History of Modern Architecture, Introduction to the Built Environment, and Design Studio.   While at the University of Texas, Mead studied and worked under Charles W. Moore who was an early pioneer of the Postmodern Architecture Movement.  Mead has also contributed to the San Diego works of Antoine Predock and Bertram Goodhue.  He has formerly taught at the Newschool of Architecture in San Diego and Texas Tech University.  His current research examines Well-Being in design which encompasses a range of disciplines from architectural history/theory and psychology to environmental control systems. 

Anne Tate
Chief Critic, European Honors Program, Rhode Island School of Design

A pioneer in sustainable planning for 25 years, Anne Tate teaches architecture and urban design at the Rhode Island School of Design and leads various sustainability initiatives on campus. In 2019-2020 she was the academic director of RISD’s European Honors Program in Rome.  She represents RISD in a new Resilient Providence Partnership, with Brown University, URI, and Waterfire. Anne has focussed on the intersection of design and policy and served in 2003–04 as a special advisor on sustainable development in the Office for Commonwealth Development (OCD) in Massachusetts, where she led two signature efforts: The Sustainable Development Principles and the Transit-Oriented Development Initiative. She is an advisor to the city of Somerville, MA, and has led various community planning initiatives there. 

Laura Briggs
Critic RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN

Laura Briggs is a partner in BriggsKnowles Studio, a practice recognized for its use of light, color, and the integration of energy-efficient and renewable energy technology. Prior to joining RISD, she served as director of the Bachelor of Fine Arts of Architecture Program, interim dean of the School of Constructed Environments and chair of Sustainable Architecture at Parsons New School for Design. She taught architecture studio and ecological design and was the faculty lead for the school’s 2011 entry into the Solar Decathlon, which has now become a home for two families in Washington, DC, through the support and partnership of the DC government and Habitat for Humanity of Washington, DC. Previously, she taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, and at the University of Michigan as the Mushenheim Fellow.

Matthew Brehm

Matthew Brehm first studied architecture at the University of Notre Dame, which included an academic year studying abroad in Rome, Italy. After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1989, Matt spent five years working in the District of Columbia for the award-winning design firms STUDIOS Architecture and Spector Knapp & Baughman, Ltd.
