The Curated Maison | Isabel Gomez Studio SRL | World Design Awards 2025

Isabel Gomez Studio SRL: Winner of World Design Awards 2025. The Curated Maison-Nestled in the heart of Brussels, this maison de maître is a stunning confluence of timeless elegance, artistic expression, and material richness. Designed for a couple deeply passionate about art and design, this space serves not only as a home but as a curated gallery of textures, tones, and forms.

Material Palette & Atmosphere

Warm clay tones dominate the walls, enveloping the space in a rich, tactile embrace. These earthy hues are complemented by sophisticated walnut veneer, lending depth and grounding the composition. Touches of brass are interwoven throughout the design — from lighting fixtures to subtle trim details — adding a refined, luxurious glow.

Underfoot, a foundation of neutral oak flooring pairs effortlessly with beige travertine, creating a gentle canvas that enhances the room’s natural elegance without competing with the decor. This neutral base allows the layered materials and sculptural furniture to truly shine.

Spatial Flow & Zoning

The open-plan configuration seamlessly connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas, yet each zone retains a distinct identity. This is achieved through individualized ceiling designs — each one thoughtfully crafted to reflect the room’s function and character. Despite their differences, a unifying element is the textured clay cement paint, which wraps around the ceilings and walls, tying the entire space together with a harmonious finish.

Furnishings & Artistic Details

The interiors are a celebration of craftsmanship and collectible design. In the living room, bespoke table legs draw attention — one in a woven block-like marble texture, the other in a delicate brass and glass composition. These pieces stand as functional sculptures.

The dining room is adorned with a unique wallpaper treatment, introducing visual rhythm and a sense of layering. An antique mirror, placed strategically, expands the perception of space while reflecting the lush greenery just outside the expansive windows.

In the kitchen, a fluted counter adds a tactile, architectural edge to the composition, while a skylight above the breakfast area allows daylight to cascade in, spotlighting the textures below and infusing the space with vitality.

Architectural Integration

Walls throughout the space are carved with niches, thoughtfully designed to host art objects, furniture, and lighting. These recesses blur the boundary between architecture and decor, making the home feel organically composed and gallery-like.

Emotional Resonance Beyond its material beauty, this home evokes emotion. It feels intimate, warm, and quietly luxurious — a space that tells a story through every curve, texture, and artifact. It’s a true reflection of its owners: lovers of beauty, history, and meaningful design.
