Chengdu Guomao Rongshang Sales office | Bluemoon Design | International Residential Architecture Awards 2024
Bluemoon Design: Winner of International Residential Architecture Awards 2024. “In stories, characters and settings conspire together, shaping the plot’s rise and fall through symbiotic interactions, metaphorically depicting the joys and sorrows of life.”
Chengdu Guomao Rongshang is located in the Lidu section of Wuhou District, Chengdu, deeply immersed in the ancient Shu civilization while fully showcasing avant-garde trends.
Taking space as the carrier, story as the core, and growth as the main thread, Bluemoon Design adopts pioneering techniques to take on the hard and soft decoration design of the Chengdu Guomao Rongshang sales office. Starting from insights into the details of life, we condense infinite vitality into limited time and space, depicting delicate life stories and narrating the aesthetic art where nature and culture blend.
Bluemoon Design implements the “spirit of place,” focusing on the building, urban space, and the interactive relationship between them.It endows architecture with life through cultural design and responds to the call of urban space in the most appropriate way, allowing the building to naturally and closely integrate with the city.
The designer incorporates the growth trajectory of hibiscus flowers into the architectural field, giving the space the tension of expansion with the infinite extension of life. At the same time, traditional elements such as Chengdu’s Shu embroidery, paper-cutting, and silver filigree are extracted, deconstructed, stripped, and recombined. While interpreting modern luxury traditions, we further explores the contemporary characteristics of art. With space as the scenery, objects as props, and viewers as actors, vitality and creativity freely spread in the boundaryless theater.
The staggered array of arc lamp hanging from the ceiling of the sand table resembles butterflies ready to take flight. Viewers linger in the interplay of light and shadow, with the shadow of butterflies alighting on their noses, leading the natural fragrance into their bodies.
“Integration leads to understanding, destruction leads to establishment.” The essence of the design lies in “integration”—where East meets West, where classical and modern collide, where humanity and nature are embedded, and where sharpness and softness are coordinated. This dissolves the boundaries of space, forming a domain of integration. The hibiscus story reaches eternity here, and the curtain of the theater of life slowly rises.
