GREENTOWN CHINA HOLDINGS LIMITED: Winner of World Design Awards 2025. Located in Jiaxing’s Economic Development Zone, the project enjoys an exceptional natural setting, with the Yaojiadang Ecological Park stretching out to the west. Through a thoughtful choreography of spatial scenes, the design fosters a seamless dialogue between the city, nature, and the rhythms of daily living. The masterplan places high-rise residential buildings along the western edge, buffering the community from urban bustle while offering sweeping views of the ecological park. Within the site’s eastern zone, a cluster of low-density courtyard villas forms an inward-facing, private, and serene sanctuary.

The western main entrance and demonstration area define the community’s identity and mark the beginning of residents’ journey home. The design embraces the camphor grove of Yaojiadang Ecological Park as the community’s natural “front garden,” opening a visual corridor that frames the woodland as a living backdrop. A colonnade orchestrates a shifting play of light and shadow throughout the day, casting dynamic patterns across the entrance plaza and walls. As residents pass through this layered spatial sequence, the view narrows gently; crossing the grand bronze gate, the mood transitions smoothly—from the bustle of the city to the serenity of a retreat.

The community entrance is complemented by a variety of lifestyle amenities. The first floor features an impressive 11-meter-high space, accommodating a tea room, a book bar, and a children’s play castle. The second floor offers a lobby bar, a private banquet hall, a ladies’ lounge, and a terrace pool. The basement, integrated with the courtyard garden, includes a gym, a yoga studio, and a pet care area. Together, these elements compose a vertical tapestry of lifestyle scenes, transforming the architecture into an organic, interactive whole. The architectural language unifies both high-rise residences and villas through a consistent palette of materials and tones, shaping an elegant, timeless aesthetic. The high-rise residences integrate modern materials with classical proportions and tones, clad in stone-textured aluminum panels and precision profiles that establish a strong vertical rhythm and animate a dynamic interplay of light and shadow across the facades. The low-density courtyard villas adopt a French style—featuring mansard roofs, symmetrical facades, and classical detailing—highlighting a sense of solidity and sophistication.
