Horizon Haven | Kris Lin International Design | International Residential Architecture Awards 2025

Kris Lin International Design: Winner of International Residential Architecture Awards 2025. 1.Objective: This design is a private club that offers a future lifestyle experience, aimed at providing an exclusive space for elites that combines a) river views, and b)  social gatherings. The design incorporates high-end dining, wine tasting, tea ceremonies, and recreational activities such as chess, creating an environment that not only promotes relaxation but also evokes emotional resonance.

2.Advantages:

Located along the banks of the Yong River, it enjoys a prime, unobstructed river view.

2.INSPIRATION:

A. Unobstructed River View
Inspired by the Yong River, the design seamlessly blends natural and modern elements through flowing lines and colors. Large-scale minimalist doors and windows maximize the river view, breaking the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a seamless connection between the natural landscape and the design.

B. Innovative Spatial Layout
The open-plan layout breaks traditional spatial boundaries, with flowing geometric lines that add freedom and flexibility to the space, avoiding the rigidity of conventional designs.

3.MATERIALS:

The design incorporates luxurious materials such as white mosaics, black patterned marble, fish belly black marble, artistic glass mosaics, Puppe’s stone, and boxwood veneer. Every detail is meticulously crafted to showcase craftsmanship and quality.

The use of Bulgari art mosaics adds a jewel-like sparkle, enhancing the space’s artistic flair and uniqueness. All materials are sourced sustainably, including natural stone, recyclable metals, and eco-friendly leather, processed with environmentally conscious techniques to reduce environmental impact while maintaining a high-end aesthetic.

4.TECHNICAL PROPERTIES

In areas like the private dining room, bathroom, tea room backdrop, and island countertop, Caméo stone slabs are used, with the specifications of 1200mm (width) x 9mm (thickness) x 3000mm (length). These slabs are durable, stain-resistant, heat-resistant, suitable for high-frequency use, and eco-friendly, meeting sustainability standards.
Some walls use stone mosaics, with the maximum size being 100mm (width) x 9mm (thickness) x 100mm (length), and a uniform depth of 9mm. The stone mosaics are durable and maintain their color, with natural materials that comply with green building standards.

5.INTERACTION:

The design of this private club is inspired by the scenic views of the Yong River, blending modern luxury with natural beauty. The open layout and flowing geometric lines break traditional boundaries, creating a more free and flexible space. Exquisite artistic mosaics, shimmering like jewels, add unique charm. Natural light combined with the river view creates an open, comfortable environment, providing a poetic and tranquil atmosphere for social gatherings.

6.RESEARCH ABSTRACT:

The project seamlessly blends natural landscapes with luxurious design, creating a unique space that attracts high-end clients and elite groups. It features two restaurants and a game room, perfectly catering to the owner’s social needs and hospitality. Exquisite design elements, such as artistic mosaics, enhance the space’s added value, bringing strong visual appeal and emotional resonance to commercial sales. The open layout and innovative flow design break traditional boundaries, offering a flexible and comfortable spatial experience, thereby enhancing the overall commercial, social, and design impact.

7.THE CREATIVE / RESEARCH CHALLENGE:

The challenge of the design was how to maximize the use of the river view.

By using narrow-frame minimalist doors and windows, the project transforms the river view into a painting within the space, greatly enhancing its aesthetic appeal. The open layout and clever circulation design avoid clutter and ensure functionality and comfort. High-end materials such as luxury stone and leather are seamlessly integrated with natural elements like the river view and plants, breaking the coldness typically associated with traditional luxury design, and injecting vitality and warmth into the space.
