Moonsail House | Vizdome Space | Architect of the Year Awards 2024

Vizdome Space: Winner of Architect of the Year Awards 2024. The source of inspiration for the exterior of the house was the image of a sailing vessel. The moonsail is the topmost sail on large sailing vessels.

The building has three wings: the parents’ wing, the sons’ wing and the daughter’s wing. The parents’ wing includes the following levels: grandparents’ level, general level for the whole family and guests, parents’ level, underground garage, technical premises. Layout of the parents’ level allows to host fashion shows right there. The sons’ wing consists of the level with recording studios and the level with bedrooms. The daughter’s wing consists of the level with art studio and the level with bedroom.

Vertical communication in the house is carried out by an elevator and stairs. Technical water is supplied to the building through seawater desalination. The building is provided with electricity by solar panels.

The external enclosing structures are finished with aluminium and glass panels. Solar panels are fixed to the upper part of each wing of the house. On the territory there is the pool of organic form made of concrete. Around the building is the garden with plants planted in flowerpots of various configurations made of concrete. The contrast of the materials of the house, the garden and the pool allows you to see another image. It is a spaceship that landed on a distant planet among the ruins of an ancient city.
