East China Architectural Design % Research Institute Co.,Ltd: Winner of World Design Awards 2024. The project is located in the Wushan Square business district with a prime location and convenient transportation. It includes two levels of underground commercial space, a subway station hall level, a barrier-free connections hall to the mezzanine, and a three-level underground parking garage, meeting both commercial parking needs and public transit transfers. The design utilizes two sunken plazas to introduce natural light and ventilation while minimizing impact on surrounding natural scenery.

Inspired by the Song Dynasty’s famous porcelain “Yaobian Tianmu”, the design incorporates historical and cultural elements. The sunken plazas symbolize tea bowls for gatherings and feature multi-functional spaces for poetry events, artisan activities, lantern festivals, and creative markets. The entire underground Commercial space serves as an open Exhibition Hall for Hangzhou’s cultural history and a modern consumer hub, creating a multi-dimensional cultural, commercial and tourism destination.
