Vitality Orange | Kris Lin International Design | World Design Awards 2025
Kris Lin International Design: Winner of World Design Awards 2025. A.Objective: This project is an innovative gym that combines fitness and leisure functions, creating a dynamic space that integrates exercise and a café environment. It provides young people with a multifunctional, interactive social and fitness space. The design breaks away from the traditional single-function gym, using an open layout to organically blend fitness, leisure, and workspaces, creating a shared and flexible multifunctional environment.
B. Approach: Flowing curves are used to create a gym with a sense of rhythm and style.

2.INSPIRATION:
Concept:
A. Rhythmic Space
Inspired by urban residents’ desire for a balanced, healthy lifestyle, the design uses curved elements to create a rhythmic space that blends fitness and café culture. It caters to young people’s need for personalization, interaction, and a space for both exercise and relaxation.
B. Vibrant Orange
The use of bright orange, paired with simple lines and functional furniture, creates a stylish yet practical design that appeals to young people and encourages active participation.
3.MATERIALS:
The project adheres to the principles of environmental protection and sustainability, using WPC bamboo charcoal wood metal panels and WPC bamboo charcoal wood high-gloss white boards, which offer high strength, stability, and eco-friendliness. The bamboo charcoal wood material is formaldehyde-free, effectively purifying the air and eliminating odors, in line with carbon neutrality principles. This material supports direct installation, reducing construction time, and features functions such as grooving and edge folding to address closure issues.
The use of antique copper brushed stainless steel, Hermes orange spray paint, and mirror finishes combines futuristic and functionalist styles, highlighting both the modernity and environmental value of the design.
4.TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
The maximum size of the WPC bamboo charcoal wood wall panel is 1200mm x 8mm x 6000mm. The WPC bamboo charcoal wood fiberboard features eco-friendliness, ease of installation, fire and water resistance, and excellent sound insulation. It meets the EU E1 formaldehyde standard, preventing harmful formaldehyde emissions.
Installation can be completed directly on bare walls or wooden battens, making it simple to operate. It has passed the EU Class C fire resistance test, with excellent waterproof performance, and the surface PVC film is easy to clean. The sound insulation effect can reach up to 29 decibels, offering a variety of styles, high flexibility, and the ability to be directly bent, simplifying construction.
5.INTERACTION:
This project is a community space that combines fitness, leisure, and social interaction. The design encourages human interaction through an open layout and flexible zoning.
The fitness area and leisure café are closely connected, offering a variety of activity options to meet diverse needs. Large windows allow natural light to flood the space, enhancing its openness and comfort. The overall design improves the residents’ quality of life by promoting health, while also creating a social and relaxing environment, optimizing space utilization, and enhancing the user experience.
6.RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Enhancing Customer Appeal and Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle:
By combining fitness and leisure café areas, the project creates a new business model that attracts more young people and family residents. The multifunctional space not only meets fitness needs but also provides a social and relaxing environment, enhancing the commercial value of the space.
Green and Sustainable Design:
The design incorporates eco-friendly materials such as WPC bamboo charcoal wood wall panels and sustainable development concepts, enhancing the space’s green value. This environmentally conscious and sustainable approach aligns with the industry’s growing focus on ecological friendliness.
7.THE CREATIVE / RESEARCH CHALLENGE:
Challenge
The biggest challenge in the design was how to effectively integrate fitness, leisure, social, and work functions, ensuring that each area remains independent while avoiding interference with one another.
Design Solution
The project required the seamless integration of these functions, while maintaining flexibility in the space to meet varying demands at different times and for different group sizes. Flexible space transitions were achieved through movable partitions and smart furniture systems, addressing peak demands while also providing a relaxing environment during quieter times. Throughout the process, we balanced functionality, aesthetics, and cost, engaging in thorough communication to ensure the design met both commercial goals and was innovative and practical.
