Jianxue Architecture and Engineering Design Institute Co.,Ltd. / Suzhou Wujiang Tiegong Investment Co.,Ltd.: Winner of World Design Awards 2024. Shengze Town, Jiangsu Province is an important silk textile production base and product distribution center in China, and is known as the “Silk Capital”.

This project is located in the “Shengze Future Fashion City”, surrounded by mainly clothing markets and factories, and the Shengxi River flows through the east side of the land.

The original farmer’s market on the site has been demolished. We want to build a brand new farmer’s market and a high-quality residential community here, bringing modern, convenient and beautiful living space to this ancient industrial town.

The total land area is 21038.80㎡ and the total construction area is 55462.65㎡. The construction area of the farmer’s market is 4494㎡. A total of 246 households can be accommodated.

This is a living space whose main purpose is practicality and efficiency. It is a living circle that can be reached within walking distance. It can not only meet the needs of daily shopping and dining, but also has some relatively quiet courtyards for leisure.

Commercial functions are concentrated on the north side of the site, including a brand new 2-story farmer’s market, and 3-story street-side commercial and supporting service spaces on the east and west sides. Passing through the entrance lobby on the west side of the plot, you can reach the residential area, which consists of 6 buildings. Residents can see beautiful river views, and can also engage in some outdoor activities in the courtyard garden downstairs and the roof garden of the farmer’s market. The traffic flow lines in the commercial area and the traffic flow lines in the residential area are independent and do not interfere with each other. The facade of the building is made of off-white stone, light gray, dark gray and champagne gold metal, light gray insulated glass, etc. The overall appearance presents an elegant silk-like texture, weaving a touch of vitality into this busy “Silk Capital”.
