Cloud Future | HZS | International Residential Architecture Awards 2024

HZS: Winner of International Residential Architecture Awards 2024. The Cloud Future project is located on the east side of Zhanxi Road and the south side of North Third Ring Road in Jin ‘an District, Fuzhou City. Adjacent to the Fuzhou Railway Station and facing the North Third Ring elevated road, the site is the image of the city and the new business card of Fuzhou. The site is close to the main traffic arteries of the city, enjoying superior location conditions and convenient bus and subway facilities. It is surrounded by hospital, schools, shopping malls and other municipal supporting living facilities.

Based on the principle of integrity, the project strives to create a community with complete service functions, good cultural environment, reasonable floor plan, elegant architectural image and beautiful environment. It tries to realize the harmonious coexistence of architecture and people, architecture and environment, architecture and city. The residential area also has a number of spaces suitable for public communication in order to strengthen outdoor communication, emphasizing the sense of participation and openness. The central square, public green space, group green space, overhead open space and other forms aim to create an open, free and friendly urban living atmosphere, and strive to achieve an international youth residential community.

The original site of the project faced a complex situation. There are adverse factors such as viaducts, on-ramps, bus stops and high-speed rail stations around the site. The design avoids the residence from being deeply trapped under the viaducts by raising the site, thereby reducing the noise and sight interference to the residential area. The site height difference can also physically reduce the impact of bus station and high-speed rail station on the community. The design proposes to preserve the existing rocky hill on the northwest side of the site, and then build along the trend of the hill with the elevated basement, so as to reduce costs and site damage. The planning compares several schemes and finally selects the best design scheme.

Targeted at young customers, the project products are committed to creating a comprehensive community suitable for young people’s habitation. Under the premise of striving to realize the standardized design of house plan, it forms several existing single planes through the combination of standard house modules to facilitate the development of prefabricated buildings. In terms of the house type functional design, it fully considers the living mode of the current young people and provides the conditions for different living scenes to switch with the design of large space without beams and square space.

As an important urban interface, the project takes into account the shaping of the regional image and adopts a modern public facade. The residential building facade design adheres to the main tone of simplicity and fashion and focuses on the control of scale. It pursues a simple style in a large area, and pays attention to the design of details in some parts. Horizontal lines and architectural blocks with different colors are used to control the architectural image on a large scale. The main walls of the building use beige, dark gray paint and large areas of glass as the main materials and are supplemented by aluminum alloy profiles. On the whole, the building is tall, clean and tidy. The base of the building is designed with approachable scale, building materials and more delicate architectural details such as grilles, door heads and molding are used to create a warm and livable building atmosphere.
