JENGA BOX | Kris Lin International Design | Architect of the Year Awards 2024
Kris Lin International Design: Winner of Architect of the Year Awards 2024. The project is a public building at the entrance of the community, encompassing four major functionalities: 1Commercial,2Lobby,3Community Office, 4Void&Equipment Room, integrating architecture, landscape, and interior design.
2. Difficulty:
Due to the limitations of the land scope, the site is located in irregular land, adjacent to the land red line and architectural control line.
3. Innovation:
A.Creative Modeling: Jenga BOX
Inspired by the childhood game of Jenga, the four major functionalities – Commercial, Lobby,Community Office, Void & Equipment Room, are transformed into four block-like spaces. The street-facing facade is designed with window displays, fully presenting the interior functions on the commercial facade of the building. A curved surface links the four spaces, providing the architecture with a coherent and unified image, and enhancing the overall integrity.
B.Pure White Art: Simplicity Reveals Infinite Sceneries The interior space adopts pure white to create an artistic atmosphere. Continuing the curvilinear elements of the exterior facade, the interplay of lines and block elements makes the transition between spaces interesting, and the levels become diverse.
