Rolling snowballs | Hangzhou Great Scale Architectural Design Co., Ltd | World Design Awards 2024
Hangzhou Great Scale Architectural Design Co., Ltd: Winner of World Design Awards 2024. OUDNA is a young brand specializing in down jackets. The new office is located in a super high-rise office building in the CBD core area, with the design goal of creating a relaxed and simple office environment, exploring the creation of a borderless display space, and conveying the brand’s warm, natural, soft, and vibrant concepts. Black and white colors form the color tone of the space, creating a spatial emotion of first suppressing and then rising. Red is embellished in the space, and the white tone of the space is like the purity of down and the cold winter of ice and snow.
The huge red sphere is like a down jacket wrapped around every hot heart, jumping around and bursting with vitality. The red sphere serves as a visual focus scattered in various spaces, while connecting the spaces to make the space fluid. The design of the red sphere comes from rolling snowballs, conveying the corporate spirit and brand culture through snowballs, symbolizing that the team spirit of all staff working together can promote the rapid development of an enterprise. The gathering energy of everyone’s push can make the enterprise develop like a snowball, rolling bigger and bigger. Only by taking steady steps can the enterprise develop steadily and not let the snowball scatter. It follows the trend. The snowball inertia trajectory represents continuous development. Snowball became the first corporate culture training course for every new employee before joining, and the supportive and united corporate culture was also passed on to every visiting supplier, marketer, and other partners. The snowball of OUDNA cannot grow bigger without the joint efforts of various partners. The space is designed to be transparent and open, with huge curved walls rolling like snowballs, leading people to explore inward. The design of the mirrored ceiling extends the scale of the space while blurring its boundaries, creating a unique dynamic spatial experience that follows closely. The intermittent disconnection of the curved walls introduces natural light into the interior of the space, forming a unique light and shadow change.

Design concept:
Design is the control of scale
The definition of scale includes three aspects of meaning:
Object (object under investigation), subject (examiner), and time and space.
Scale is not just a spatial concept, but also a temporal concept.
