Jianxue Architecture and Engineering Design Institute Co.,Ltd. / CCCC Real Estate (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.: Winner of World Design Awards 2024. Chengdu Luming Chapters is located in the “core” of Panchenggang and Vientiane City, the highest energy sector in Chengdu. It is close to Tazishan Park and Sha River. It is a rare low-density residential project in the region.

The design is embedded in the formal language of Chengdu’s traditional streets and lanes to stimulate the humanistic environment. A five-entry courtyard is created with the lobby of the exhibition area as the center, providing a new double-layered entry and home experience.

The project takes “continuing traditional culture and returning to poetic life” as the design concept. It decomposes the traditional Chengdu street space, extracts the spatial elements of “alleys, squares, and courtyards” and reconstructs an orderly spatial sequence based on the site.

A five-entry courtyard is built with the lobby of the exhibition area as the center, connecting the ground and underground, providing a new double-layered entry and return home experience.

The ground route for returning home is connected to the private courtyard through viewing corridors and roads between houses.

The underground circulation line forms the main club space around the waterscape courtyard. Its main functions include private banquet halls, negotiation rooms, gyms, etc.

The five-fold homecoming ritual system has been realized:

The project’s dual-group planning maximizes the release of land value. The floor area ratio of the villa group is as low as 1.0. It adopts a quasi-detached form and creates a sunken courtyard and eight theme spaces for all ages.

The design of this project weakens the negative factors and creates favorable conditions.

The villa area is close to the viaduct, with the city’s main road to the west. In order to reduce the impact of noise, the gables of the villa buildings face the viaduct, and trees are planted in the green space between the site and the main road. The building materials are aerated concrete block gables + low-double glass hollow tempered exterior windows + silicone weather-resistant sealant to block, isolate and absorb noise. The southeast side of the plot is Tazishan City Park. High-rise residential buildings with 17 to 24 floors are set up on the narrow base on the west side. High-rise residents can overlook the park. There are 10m and 30m wide urban green belts on the west and south sides of the project respectively, with 4 to 6-story villa areas set in between, shaded by greenery, fully ensuring privacy and integrity.
