Moshang-huakai Residence | Bluetown Architects | International Residential Architecture Awards 2021
Bluetown Architects: Winner of International Residential Architecture Awards 2021. The project located in a small town of Quzhou City, which has an only 10 min drive from Jiang Lang Mountain Scenic Area. It is also very close to the Yi-Yang Town Center, which is another tourist destination and amenity complex designed by Bluetown architects.
The two core ideas of the project are ‘Healthy Living’ (Yi-Yang) and vacation destination. Based on the existing two major landscape resources: the mountains in the distance and the adjacent farmland, the design team plans to create a community of townhouses for full-age health living and vacation homes. The master planning respects the original topography and integrates the landscapes to form a layout of “two axes, three centers and two open spaces”.
The ceremonial homecoming lobby, welcoming courtyard, infinity swimming pool, a 2.5-meter-wide covered walkway through the whole site, and a central overhead space that for both dynamic and static use. All programs strongly support the home welcoming, scenic views, and friends gathering. The vitality route will provide the feeling of “being in the cage for a long time, and returning to nature”.
The architectural design is focused at “courtyard”. Through the methods of stepping out, picking out, and staggering, the design team strive to have a courtyard space for each household to enjoy the sunlight and natural planting. The facade is based on the new Asian style, the classic three-stage composition combined with the large Chinese style cantilever, the horizontal lines are light and agile, the rhythm of the facade is rich and fluent, and the wood texture and metal grille are interspersed to create a light, simple and refined the architectural temperament.
