Shenzhen AUBE Architectural Engineering Design Co.,Ltd: Winner of World Design Awards 2023. Located at the northeastern tip of Hengqin New Area in Zhuhai, the Financial Island is the core area of financial innovation demonstration in Hengqin, positioning itself as a pilot zone for exploring new models of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperation, deepening reform, development, and technological innovation under the “One Country, Two Systems” framework. In the future, it will serve as a testing ground for financial reforms and become a central business district (CBD) center with offshore financial development and financial innovation as its core.

The design concept fully embodies the regional characteristics of Hengqin Financial Island, emphasizing ecological sustainability. In terms of overall layout, it respects the skyline planning of the entire site, considers the layout of the towers’ positions reasonably, and minimizes adverse impacts on surrounding buildings. The architectural style is characterized by fashion, innovation, and grandeur, selecting colors that comply with Hengqin’s architectural color planning, primarily using white, green, and blue to showcase the characteristics of coastal architecture. The rooftop plan resembles a lily, conveying an elegant and graceful temperament that resonates with the ambiance of Hengqin.

The functional layout prioritizes practicality, with a strong public character in the office tower. It is placed in a linear arrangement at the southwest corner of the site, meeting planning requirements while creating an open interface along the street for pedestrian access. The commercial podium is placed in a linear arrangement along the eastern side, creating commercial interfaces facing the public green space to maximize economic value while enhancing the sequence of public pedestrian spaces.

The facade design incorporates the concept of the “Lily Impression,” extracting three prominent impressions from the lily flower—stamen, petals, and petal spots—as the three basic elements of the facade. It deconstructs and reconstructs the lily flower into the building. Simultaneously, the design combines light-colored metal panels with glass to create surface textures, emphasizing the rhythm and rhythm of horizontal components, creating a sense of horizontal waves according to the widths of different components, strengthening the coastal architectural characteristics, and seamlessly integrating with the regional characteristics of Hengqin Financial Island. The bottom podium continues the facade elements of the upper towers, employing various variants of the same technique for the commercial podium. The facade design for the ground-level parking garage features various details, forming a rich and coordinated whole within a unified concept.
