Rising Glen by Studio Jhoiey | World Design Awards 2020
Studio Jhoiey: Third Award of World Design Awards 2020. For this House Design Built, we’ve cultivated ourselves on industrial designs from all over the world. Starting with the office – from the Big Ben in London, England all the way to the Makkah Royal Clock Tower in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the role of this home office design far exceeds merely telling time and simply completing daily tasks, but architecturally highlights timelessness in our modern world’s greatest wonders. Transitioning through the main living space with soaring wood-lined vaulted ceilings, and sophisticated double-sided black brick fireplace with built-in log storage, we wanted to create an incredible indoor/outdoor living sensation, to enhance the overall open floor layout. As another tribute to a true modern industrial design, we’ve created a solid steel floating vanity to emphasize the edgy yet elegant feel without losing the warmth and comfort of a residential space. Lastly, to piece the full design together, the lay of the kitchen opens in all directions with vaulted ceilings, warm toned LED lighting, five double windows, a skylight, and warm wood textures mixed in with industrial materials to create the ultimate chef’s kitchen.

Studio Jhoiey, Inc was founded in December of 2011 by Jhoiey Ramirez. A designer with over 20 years’ experience in architecture, interior and landscape design After a particularly rough health patch Jhoiey found that this typical corporate structure was not allowing her to properly maintain her health. Breaking from the corporate world she founded Studio Jhoiey, Inc in the principle that everyone deserves a work‐life balance and that said balance is not the same for everyone. What was created was a company where creativity and adaptability thrive.
