Zhubo Design: Winner of International Residential Architecture Awards 2023. We reconstructed the topology of the architectural space layout. In terms of axial space design, a spatial sequence of “three-entry courtyards” is constructed to strengthen the order and give users a more sense of belonging to “home”.

Through space subtraction, a “Jinci” space is taken out of the inside of the square box, and the horizontal line slices through the inside and outside increase the extension and depth of the space, making the whole interior feel more intuitive.

By studying the local cultural buildings in Shanxi, we extract the elements of the overhanging eaves and translate them into our own architectural language. The superimposed horizontal lines on the facade create a more three-dimensional, rhythmic and rhythmic shape.

The material selection is wood-grained aluminum plate that is easy to highlight the overall atmosphere, and at the same time, it is light in weight, good in durability, and more waterproof, moisture-proof and anti-corrosion.

The visual image is never a mechanical reproduction of perceptual materials, but a creative grasp of reality. The image grasped in this way is rich in imagination, creativity and sensitivity. Therefore, instead of mechanically applying the girder system of ancient buildings, we use modern concrete structures to create the “empty” parts of ancient buildings.

The architectural design, landscape design and interior design of the demonstration area also integrate the past and the present, striving to simplify the complexity. In the interior, a sphere with traditional wooden imagery is skillfully used as the focal point of the space vision, integrating the inside and outside of the building into a unified whole.
